Airgap Membrane Tanking

Trueform Airgap Membrane

If the walls of your home are made of a single brick or block and have no cavity they will always be cold and damp. Damp walls are very prone to condensation and black spot mould. Air Gap Membrane is dimpled plastic sheet which, due to the dimples, allows air to freely circulate and flow. This prevents moisture from becoming trapped which can cause further damp and mould problems.

Internal & External Damproof Render Systems

External Damp Proofing

Damp proofing walls will protect your home from moisture, and any resultant damage from damp. Exterior walls that are made from concrete, bricks, and similar material are porous and will invite moisture into your home if they are left untreated.

Dampcourse Injection

Trueform Damp Course

Dampcourse Injection helps to prevent rising damp and other problems related to damp in your home.  Chemicals injected into interior walls form a barrier in the brickwork & mortar against damp. The walls can then be re-plastered using specified plasters.

What is Damp Course Injection?

Damp course injections are chemicals that are injected deep inside the building material. They have a consistency that allows the active ingredient, silane, to be absorbed into the substrate both vertically and horizontally without running out. The silane then lines the capillaries before curing to create a water repellent barrier.

What problems can be caused by damp?

Damp is unsightly, potentially unhealthy, and can cause heat loss due to the increased conductivity of the walls. If you notice the tell tale signs of damp the sooner you start thinking about resolving the issue, the less likely for more damage to occur and the lower the potential costs to remedy the issue.

Often, the easiest and most reliable way to do this is to contact an experienced and qualified damp specialist such as ourselves that are familiar with damp problems and the variety of damp treatments available.

What to look for?

  • Localised dampness — Blotchy patches on internal walls.
  • Plaster damage — Plaster & paint deterioration, blistering, appearance of stains & salts.
  • Wet Rot — Rotting skirting boards or timber.
  • Mould — Mouldy smell or signs of mould growth on internal decoration.
  • Moss — Excessive moss growth on external walls.
  • Brick damage — Moisture entering the brick (known as spalling) causes surface damage.

What is Air Gap Membrane Installation?

Air Gap Membrane is a dimpled plastic sheet which, due to the dimples, allows air to freely circulate and flow within the wall. This prevents moisture from becoming trapped as in conventional tanking systems which can drive dampness sideways and upwards and into other areas of your home and cause further damp and mould problems.

Brilliant service by Tony at True-form. He turned up at 7am every day, was polite and professional but most of all his finished work is up there with the best I have seen. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and we will be getting him back for more work soon.

Really great honest guy works really hard and takes pride in his work and knows his stuff, he’s done a few jobs for us now and will have him back in a heart beat to do any work we require in the future (so please dont leave town tony) he did sound proofing 1 room and sorted our damp issues in the basement and did a mint job in plastering it off! Only down side though he doesn’t drink all his cups of tea and coffee due to being engrossed in his outstanding work.

What can I say about Tony? He is a complete star! We recently bought an old cottage in a village on the Wolds with damp throughout the ground floor. Tony treated the damp and replastered every wall perfectly. We also asked him to fix our fireplace which was crumbling and skim all of the ceilings. This he did with complete professionalism, keeping us up to date with progress through regular texts and photos, and the result is fabulous! We will be getting Tony back early next year to re-render the outside of the house too. I wouldhave no hesitation to recommend Tony. He is reasonably priced and his work is second to none. Thanks Tony for all your help and a marvellous job.

I had a serious damp issue in my lounge of one of my rented properties. Having a tenant ready to move in to this property I needed to act quickly and Tony came to my rescue. He came round surveyed the property and gave me a quote which i was happy with.
Tony got to work straight away working evenings to get it done for me . The lounge was completed within five days and wow it looks fantastic now with no damp coming through.
I would highly recommend Tony he turns up when he says, prices competitively and is an honest hardworking guy.
Thanks Tony one happy tenant and landlord.

After numerous bad experiences with different including a previous plasterer, Tony was a breathe of fresh air. He rendered the front and back of our house, plastered a wall and even put a damp course in. His quote was the most detailed I’ve ever seen and even included cleaning up and removing of rubble. Kept us informed from start to finish on what he was doing and why, honest throughout and great finished result. His experience shows in the quality of work.

Would definitely recommend especially over a big company, hes local and would have him back again, don’t judge until you’ve seen the quality of his work.

Worked with Tony on a recent work project, loved how he worked, how clean and tidy he was and the finish he got in all aspects of his work. So I asked him to undertake a damp issue at mine, he used air gap membrain which he recommend. I have to admit it has cured our issue as he had explained. On time and on budget cheers Tony
